Kate’s story is a familiar story. She started CrossFit because she was carrying an unhealthy amount of weight. Little did she know that would lead her to the CrossFit Games where she competed as an individual, picked up a sponsorship with Reebok allowing her the financial freedom to found Coca CrossFit in 2010.
Kate also understands the challenges that come with starting a new routine as she has come back from a ruptured Achilles, a major knee surgery, a preterm pregnancy loss and her postpartum recovery from a c-section.
She understands it’s not about where you are or going it alone, it’s about getting where you want to be with a like-minded coach.

I first experienced CrossFit in 2014. I have always loved fitness so the variety of movements and constantly varied workouts appealed to me. The community of people that I get to train with also add to the value of CrossFit!
I got into coaching because I love to help people. CrossFit not only has the ability to change people’s lives in the short-term positively, but there can be life long benefits. I love that I have the opportunity to coach because it allows me to help people reach their goals and transform their lives.
Cindy is my favorite workout and movement is Cleans. Least favorite workout is DT and movement is Thrusters!

Love the random but not so random nature of the modality and what it can do for your fitness. CrossFit never gets repetitive because you always are doing something different.
I love to encourage and motivate others to find that extra gear or level they never thought they had. CrossFits style of programming and the community aspect of it all allows coaching to be fun and rewarding. Favorite quote: “Be impressed more by intensity, than by volume”
Favorite movement/Workout: Thrusters, anything moderate to light barbell and includes gymnastics.
Least Favorite movement/Workout: Wall Walks, Anything super heavy or that doesn’t have intensity.
Why I started CrossFit:
I tried a class and loved the variety! It was also reminiscent of my Army days and workouts with my troops!
What kept you coming back to CrossFit:
I always looked and felt the best after the workout was over. I was given a reprieve from stress and I could take that home to dinner and with a family feeling a little lighter.
Why I want to coach:
I love watching people do things they thought they could never do! That’s why I also like the strongman implements and coaching Max efforts. When folks get that PR, it’s like they cashed a check they earned day after day at the gym!
What are my long term coaching plans:
Coach as long as I can make a positive impact on others. Coach something, learn something new and master it for my body and coach that too.
